I am facing the same problem with all Portals from one of 3 dnn installations which i have updated to 7.2.1. The one DNN installation with that problem has one Portal which has Translation enabled. Could this be related?

yes - the issue is caused by incorrect tabid's in a number of the columns in portallocalization - go into that table and inspect the values and ensure that they are valid tab id's of the portal in question (if not update them or set them to null)

Cathal,

I checked my portallocalization table and all tabids appear to be ok both for en-us and it-it (which are locales I have on this portal; I too have translation enabled here). Are there other tables I should check?

One strange thing I see in this table is I have plenty of strange culturecodes:

I expected to find only the two entries in bold, where do other entries come from? Should/could I delete thm with no worry?

My portallocalization table had also several entries with strange culturecodes. I have removed them and i have checked the different TabId's. Then i cleared the cache and restarted the DNN application. But the original problem concerning the permission checkboxes still remains.

I noticed the same, there is a bug when calling portallocalization - it seems taking culture code from browser instead of currentculture of the DNN thread
