Peter, I had to roll back from the above issue and sort of forgot about it until now. I have since moved my install to 7.3.3 and decided to upgrade the Blog to 6.1.0. The install seemed to run fine with no errors reported with the install.

However some errors begin on the Blog. Here's an example.

On Edit and New Post the error after Saving. Item is Saved or Posted however.

Error: is currently unavailable. So here I am back on the forum looking for a solution and find this old Topic. So I go through the whole thing again and you guessed it, no ModuleID field in the Blog_Post table.

I'm at a lost to figure out what is going on here. Could I add the table/data manually?

Just to see if I could get a ModuleId field written to the Blog_Posts table I tried this.

Backup DB

Unzip the Blog Instal file and FTP the dll to be sure it is the current version.

Go to Properties of the Install file and Un Block it.

Run it again in Repair mode.

No errors displayed "Completed Successfully". Still no ModuleID field in Blog_Posts. ???

Merv,

There shouldn't be a ModuleID field in the Posts table. So any SPROC that expects it is either tweaked by someone else, or old or something.

Sorry Peter. Am I missing something here, referring back to your original reply in this thread "You had a failed install if you have a Blog_Posts table without ModuleId."

Everything else checks out.

1. Is there a table Blog_Posts? Yes there is a table - Blog_Posts. Indicating that the Scripts did run correctly.
2. Do you see data in this table? Yes there is data in the table.
3. You'll see several fields in this table. I see several fields in this table. There is data in theses fields. Yes there is. Check for corresponding data a in table ContentItems table. All data exists.

4. Points 1-3 should indicate whether the old blog posts are still in the database and whether they have been migrated to blog 6. Now we're going to check the wiring to the front end. Check out ModuleID in the record in Blog_Posts and in ContentItemID. They should be the same. Write down that ModuleID. (616).

No ModuleId in Blog_Posts.

I am having a similar problem. I have DNN 7.4 and I have Blog 5.0. I have tried to up grade using the 6.0.0, 6.0.1, and the 6.0.2 upgrades and I am having the same problems with all of them. None of them add the ModuleID to the Blog_Posts table, yet none of them show any errors when doing the up grade. This is what the basic upgrade output looks like:

When I go to edit a post I get the following error (formatted for better readability:

I have tried everything and nothing seems to be creating the column in the table. Have I missed something?
