it's on our list to look at but it's definitely not high priority. Creating a community voice item and getting support for it is still the best way to highlight requested enhancements (our product managers review this area regularly). Note: useful as items such as CORS support are, there is a risk with them that the security team would have to test/analyse (CORS works around cookie domain origin restrictions so careless usage can compromise security easily)

Cathal: I just upgraded to DNN 7.2.2 and it overwrote all the new versions of the dlls (like Newtonsoft.Json.dll). This caused the upgrade to fail and a fair few problems (I had to FTP the new dlls up). Is there any way this could be avoided or am I going to face this on each upgrade until the core is using the new versions?

you will experience the same issue as you're overwriting core dependencies i.e. it would be the same if you added jquery 2.0 and wrote some plugins that required that and then upgraded to 7.2.2 and your jquery 2.0 was overwritten with jquery 1.9.1 - if you choose to move ahead of core dependencies then you will have to manage swapping the files in and out yourself.
