What's the resource dropdown in Create New Module used for? It's listing .cs and .ascx files. The help says "Select the resource to use to create the module". Not very helpful help BTW. What kind of resource? To build the module in what way?

Assuming that you are in the Extensions->Create Module area - Each module you define - needs to know the default control / resource that will be used when the View action is called for a module. That is what it is asking you to define.

But what exactly are you trying to do - you need to have already coded your module before you try to use the extensions area to define a new module installer - in which case you would have already created these files.

If you are actually trying to build a module for the first time - you should not be in the extensions area unless you have already coded you module - instead - you should look at using the Module Creator - which is on the Module dropdown of the host/admin toolbar.

I already have a basic module created using Christoc's template. When I see 'resource' I am thinking an .resx file or a file in  resources.zip. If it's asking for the initial view, I don't think 'resource' is a good label. Initial view is more explanatory or explain it more in the tooltip.

Also why would it show .cs files?  Can a view run straight from a .cs file?

And thanks for the reply BTW.

Pretty sure thats one of those left over legacy 'bugs' - cant think of a logical reason why you would assign a module to a .cs file.
It requires both files to define the whole class definition.
