Thanks Ilpo - with that information I have a further question:  I'm planning to update a small DNN 7.1.0 installation to 7.4.2... and then update the forum from 5.0.3 to  5.0.5.

Have you done some updates with 5.0.5 - or only fresh installs?

If you've done some updates - any recommended procedures or potential "gotchas" encountered?

Much appreciated!

These current ones have been updates and I always patch my sites using this installation package.
It is not touching database in any way, only forum files are updated with new ones so in that sense you are safe if something goes wrong.
