Has anyone had the experience where random users are generated on a site, as follows:

Date: 04 April 2014

First Name:

Last Name: London

Unit:

Street: 00000000

City: 11111111

Region: Alabama

Country: Afghanistan

Postal Code: 01/01/1970

Telephone: London

Email: [any random email address]

Unfortunately, the IP address doesn't seem to have been recorded, despite switching this facility on.

Does anyone know the best way in which I can stop this happening altogether?

Many thanks!

there have been other attempts trying to register accounts.
Best suggestion is enabling CAPTCHA on registration page.

I'm starting to get lots of random accounts. They don't come with a profile, they are just subscribers. Why would anyone want to do this? They can't post because I don't have forums, etc.

there seem to be someone trying to register to any DNN website, looking for a place to spam.

Hi Sebastian. Is there a way so that I can "capture the user" in the database BEFORE sending a return email to the new potential and unwanted spam user.
I can see that every time a specific country name is written in the user table, and I hope that I can create a trigger so that the user is automatically deleted.
I am running an older version of DNN (pre 6.0) and I can't get the application to display the CAPTCHA image.

Cheers

Ole - Copenhagen
