All,

  I'm trying to change a tab color of a  single menu item entry from a Top-Level Menu to differentiate it from the the other top-level menu items.  I've found posts in earlier version in relation to locating the tab-id and creating a special class in the CSS for that tab-id, but with the introduction and more wide-spread use of friendly URLs it appears this is no longer the viable option.  Can anyone else offer a suggestion.

Example

 Tabs:  Home Blog Info

Say I want to change the Info Tab from the standard color to a 'green' color but I want all other tabs to continue to act as expected.  How would this be accomplished.  I'm using a standard mega-menu layout.

 Version: 7.2.2

Thanks!

Dustin

Tabs are still there even if they do not show in the url. Did you try what you found?

Yes,

  I actually un-checked the option for friendly URLs and it still did not expose a tab-id in the source for the page.  as the article suggested.

Here it the article I referenced:

http://www.dnnsoftware.com/forums/forumid/109/threadid/410153/scope/posts

But this did not seem to work as the tabid information didn't seem to be available, and I think the way of referencing the contorls is differnet now via css is different now if my memory serves me correctly.  Am I missing something here?  Should the steps work just as described.  I admittendly did attempt the solution in a hurry, so its possible I did something wrong in my haste.  But I thought I would as as the original post is a "bit" dated.

Thanks!

Although he just says 'current menu' it looks like that poster is using the (now!) older DNN menu.

I just looked one of my own sites. It uses the in-the-box DDR menu with the "DNNStandard" template. It does not generate a tab id into the html. I think the best solution to this would be to customise the template so that it does generate the tab id as a class.

I don't know much about doing that.

In my case the template is at \Portals\_default\Skins\DarkKnight\DNNStandard\ULTokens.txt. Assuming your site skin uses the DDR Menu, you will need to find the equivalent file for the skin you are using. If you look in there and this article http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/... you should be able to muddle through!

I added to the post you reference because I think the OP has a mistake about classes and CSS selectors.

I could not resist fiddling.  It was dead easy.  I added

tab[=ID]

to the list of generated classes in the template. In the html I see things like...

class="..... tab577"

As you can make that generated class name as unique as you like, you won't need a complex css selector to target it,
