Don't you think it's time to clarify the relationship between Telerik and DNN ?

If the partnership is well and truly finished : in this case why continue to use and integrate Telerik dll ?

Indeed i see several problem to keep these DLLs :

These dlls are older versions (Q2 2013) which have not been updated and therefore may contain security vulnerabilities and / or incompatibilities with recent browsers that Telerik corrected in his latest versions. Continuing to use these older versions is a fragility in particular on security for DNN.

These dll are heavy to load : no longer use might improve the operating speed of DNN.

For those who have an official license from Telerik: deliver DNN with these older versions causes problem because changing the dll to the latest versions risk to compromise the proper functioning of DNN that is compiled to work with an older version.

In summary those who do not want to have to do with Telerik must have it and those (with an official individually Telerik license) who want to use the latest version are going to take the risk to make go wrong DNN or to develop modules that will not work in future versions of DNN.

I'm personally for to stop using these Telerik dll and therefore to deleting them from DNN.

What about you ?

DNN dev team got the source code for Telerik library Q2/2013) and is maintaining it themselves now, trying to avoid browser issues and fix security bugs.

However, in the long term, the strategy is moving away from Telerik, and module developers might consider using jQuery controls for custom effects - but may still rely on DNN controls, which should be converted within the next couple of DNN versions.

Is this finished?

Was it announced anywhere?

Is there anywhere I can monitor for announcements?

Best wishes,
