Hello,
We have a newsfeed module on our home page that displays the next three events from our Events calendar. Both modules are stock DNN modules. The Events module has been updated to the lastest release on both our test inhouse server (also running DNN 7.2) and the live server. The newsfeed module has not been updated on the live server but has been updated on the test server. In both cases, the time displayed on the home page is 5 hours earlier than the actual event time. Looking at the URL of the newsfeed itself, configured in the newsfeed module, we see that the time is CORRECT. We think that before the update of the Events module and DNN to 7.2, we needed to manipulate the newsfeed to show the correct time on the home page. If we look at our second backup site running DNN 6.2, an event scheduled to start at 6pm is correctly displayed on the home page rendering of the newsfeed, but the newsfeed itself shows 7pm--an hour later. We think we removed the icon to subscribe to the RSS because the time was wrong by an hour in the feed itself (at least during daylight savings time). Because our web designer is no longer at the coop, we are having trouble resolving this problem. We can't locate where any custom coding might have been done. One thing we wonder about is that the NewsRSS.aspx has only one line of code:
<%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeBehind="NewsRss.aspx.vb" Inherits="DotNetNuke.Modules.News.NewsRss" %>
We have been unable to locate the "NewsRss.aspx.vb" CodeBehind file. Where does that live? We wonder if that contains the custom coding that no longer works as intended after the Events module was updated and DNN was updated from 6 to 7.
In summary, are you aware of code changes to the Events module that impact the way it serves up RSS and the time?
You can see the problem at http://www.hungermountain.coop In the right hand column the News Feed module labeled Events (with the "NOTE: Add 5 hours to all times." text above) is showing the event time 5 hours earlier than the actual event stored on the Events calendar.
We did check that the Admin and Host accounts have the correct Eastern Standard Time zone.
Any hints or help you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
