Hi everyone,

We are currently having a problem where we have setup multiple sites on our DNN installation and our scheduled jobs seems to be running multiple times. This cannot happen as we have certain jobs that are for just 1 site in particular. I have tried setting upBelow I'll outline how we have everything setup.

DNN Version: 7.3.4

Host/default website - https://www.sample.com/dnnsite

IIS - DNN is an application folder under Default Website and running in a dedicated application pool ex.: Default Website\dnnsite

Added multiple portals and tried them as child portals which creates directories under the root as dnnsite\child1, dnnsite\child2. Changed the alias to www.sample.com/child1. Once these are created, I cannot load them. I had to create a new application folder under IIS and point it to the root directory of the dnnsite folder and assigned to the same application pool. This brought up the site, but now I have my scheduled jobs running multiple times. I believe it has something to do with the additional application directory pointing to my current "default" website.

I tried creating a new Parent portal, but again, same results. Any help is appreciated. If you need something clarified, please do not hesitate to ask.

if you run additional IIS sites then these are separate applications and you will get separate threads and hence separate (duplicate) scheduled tasks. I recommend you check that your site has http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980368 which is required for extensionless urls i.e. mysite.com/child (you can check if it's missing by trying mysite.com/child/default.aspx -if that works, then you're missing the dll for extensionless urls - or else you're not running under an integrated pipeline)

Cathal,

Thanks for the reply. In order for it to work, I had to create a new application in IIS. When I remove the application and try to access the site using https://www.mysite.com/child-site/default.aspx I get the following error. I have not applied the patch but will try that next. Also, is there an issue in having the host site as https://www.mysite.com/host ... then creating child portals? Would they be as https://www.mysite.com/host/child or can I make the url https://www.mysite.com/child

Server Error in '/' Application.

you can see what the urls would be via host->site management, but the structure is site/child/page

I think that is the problem. it is currently setup under an application directory under Default Web Site in IIS 7. But we don't want the host site in the url... meaning, right now it is https://www.mysite.com/site/child and would want only https://www.mysite.com/child... is that possible?
