I was having the same problem when logged in as a registered user. The registered user had view & write permissions to
/portals/#/images but not the portal root.

I was trying to upload by clicking the 'insert/edit image' button in the editor then selecting the upload tab and trying to upload from that tab. It popped up the error Anthony was getting. I then tried going to the main tab clicking browse server, then clicking the 'images' folder... I then noticed you could upload from this page which I did successfully into the images folder.

Would I be right in thinking that when the images window is opened it defaults to the root directory, so by going straight to the upload tab I was trying to upload into the root directory. To which I didn't have permissions, hence the error? Maybe this is what is happening to others?

On the upload tab maybe you should have a way to first select the folder into which the file is to go? Or remove this tab and have everyone go through the 'Browse Server' onthe first tab?

Antony

Exact same problem here.  I think WEBPC is on to something.  Im using the latest Fck too.

Last release is 01.00.06

a) Upload folder.- By using the image gallery you can upload to every folder you have access to. The quick upload feature from FCKeditor only allows you to upload to the root folder (You can change the root folder by using the custom options dialog)

The quick upload dialog if a feature from the FCKeditor, it is not a fckeditor provider feature. This feature currently does not have a way to select a new upload folder.

b) Quick upload tab.- You can disable it just by disabling it at fckconfig.js. The option is there and is easy to change.

I ill dig into a way to automatically disable the quick upload feature when no write permissions to root folder, but it could take some time.

I could solve the problem just by opening the table Folders (at SQL Server) and typing a "/" (without quotations) at the FolderPath fied of PortalID 0. This field is originally empty.

I'm not sure what this change implicates, but so far there was no visible impact at the site.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

This helped with my issue regarding users having rights to edit the page but were not site admins.  Now when they browse for image on server they can only see folders they have permissions to.

However the problem still exists about uploading images.  I really like this editor over FTB, however not letting users upload images is a real issue.  I'm hopeful that the editor can be fixed to operate like FTB whereas when a user logins in they will only see folders that they have access to and have the ability to upload images to their folder.  The issue where FKC is trying to upload images to root is a real issue that I hope will be addressed soon.

Thanks
