Environment:
DNN 6.2.9 running on two Windows 2008 R2 servers (web/db) and the DNN application has enabled for Active Directory authentication. End user will have to use Citrix XenApp virtualized desktops to access the portal and access has granted through a proxy server. (Model of the proxy server can be provided if it is matters) User default browser is IE version 9.

Our Requirement:
To upgrade the DNN portal up to latest stable version or at least up to 7.3.3.

Problem:
Upgrade in to the DNN 7.3.3 is possible without errors in the upgrade log, however after the upgrade finished, the admin panel is visible for the admin users but clicking on the admin tab will throw “You do not have access to view this page within the website” message. And also we can access the DNN portal pages but the admin tab will be removed and the site can be browsed as a public user. Even though it does not appear the admin panel, admin tabs can be brows using the tab IDs. Example: http://myserver.local/dnn?TabID=40

Observations:
1. DNN portal has upgraded in to the next stable version which is 7.0.0 but ended up with the same problem “You do not have access to view this page within the website.”

2. Upgraded DNN portal can be viewed by passing the proxy server without issues through Firefox and Chrome and even from IE 9, but sometimes the same error “You do not have access to view this page within the website.” can be seen and reloading the page will disappearing the error and load the page as usual. (only applicable for IE 9)

We are struggling with this issue for past few days, any helpful tips, guidance would be highly appreciated !

Yes we did a comparison. we have created another test environment and upgraded the same environment from 6.2.9 to 7.3.3. this is working fine. we then replaced working web config to the environment where we have issues. still same issue with original environment, test environment working without any issues though.

Removing Negotiate and leaving only NTLM in the Providers (in IIS Windows Authentication) has resolved the issue. Any thoughts ?
Any guidance on troubleshooting the kerberos issues ?
