Thank you for posting the error message!

The portion you posted as an image is in the 7.4.0 SQL Data Provider Script

Have you set "Use Email Address as Username" to true in Admin > Site Settings > Registration Settings ?
If you run SQL against the Users table to return just emails do you get any duplicate emails?

SELECT Email, DisplayName, LowerEmail
FROM Users
ORDER BY Email DESC

There's a whole JIRA story that apparently relates to Registration workflow changes that was amended because it used the wrong API when the Pull Request was submitted.
https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/brow...

Then there's the JIRA to fix the above issue:
https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/brow...

I'll be retesting this with a few duplicate email addresses and set "Use Email Address as Username" to true to see if I can get a solid set of repro steps.
There's been an attempt to modify the Registration workflow via
https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/brow...
and
https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/brow...

Unfortunately we've only implemented the 1st portion which may be resulting in unintended consequences

Thanks Ken,

I did have the email as username box checked, I unchecked it now, do you think that should do it? Should I attempt to upgrade again?
There are too many duplicate emails to clean up across several portals so I'd rather not do that.

Thanks,
Rob
