New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.
In order to participate you must be a registered DNNizen

In the User Accounts section I can see everyone, including 'admin' listing the original developer. I realize now I can see the Manage Roles icon, which can be clicked to bring up a Manage User Roles interface. I have the Delete or Edit button for all users but the admin account.

From the Manage Roles interface, under Security Role there's a dropdown box listing 5 user types: Admin, Registered Users, Subscribers, Translator, and Unverified Users.

I'll do my best to gain access to the server, but this is a non-profit staff by non-contiguous volunteers who don't always overlap and have varying tech skills :-)

Sounds like you are an Admin user but not a host.

It took me some time to get Host privileges and access to the server, but I finally did it! I'm pretty sure I even found where the code is I need to change. Now ... if anyone remembers this thread, or gets caught up I'm probably going to need just a tad more advice before I upload the modified file.

I've never made a change to an existing skin using DNN, and I'm a little apprehensive. I'm sure I shouldn't be, but I don't want to mess anything up.

All I need to do is upload the updated .ascx file, correct?

(My apologies for being a weenie)

Correct. Just overwrite the existing file.

If you're overly nervous, copy and rename the existing file, then overwrite it.
