Thank you for your reply. Below is a link to a screen shot of how my aliases are set up. The domain without a language code has been set as English since the client does not want one to appear when viewing the site in English, which is the default language. Would that affect how this operates?

In other words, I don't think I have a neutral alias setup. Is the only way to have a neutral alias is to have the English version of the site have the English language code as part of the URL?

you should remove the language from the first entry and check "primary" on the second row as well.

Thank you, when I have a chance I'll make that change.

In the meantime though, it appears that there's still an issue with using the same page URL across languages (I have updated to 7.4.2). I recently completed the French translations and everything worked great. I have two different pages with the same (but translated) content at the following URLs:

www.example.com/about-us
www.example.com/fr-ca/about-us

However, I just tried to do the first Simplified Chinese page and I am being met with the same error as before:

"The submitted Page URL is not available. If you wish to accept the suggested alternative, please click Update."

So I  am unable to have a similar page at www.example.com/zh-cn/about-us. It is suggesting to me to use www.example.com/zh-cn/about-us1, which obviously doesn't work.

Any insight as to why this is happening? I was really hoping this was solved.

Thank you for your time!

Quick follow up:

I just tried to set the URL for the Traditional Chinese page and it worked correctly, so something is up with the Simplified version. I now have a page at www.example.com/zh-tw/about-us, but cannot get www.example.com/zh-cn/about-us to work. Just to be prudent, there are no pages in the recycle bin. Is there anything else I can check? What about the database, I have access to that and know my way around.

Okay so I did both of those but now it's starting to inject /en-us/ in front of all my links. The client doesn't want there to be any language code for English, which should be the default language. If I got to www.example.com it redirects to www.example.com/en-us/. Any way to omit the language code for English but keep them for the other languages (and so the links will not have to be changed in each language's content)?

Thank you for your time!
