This is the language selector used :

 <%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="LANGUAGE" Src="~/Admin/Skins/Language.ascx" %>

<dnn:LANGUAGE runat="server" id="LANGUAGE1"  showMenu="False" showLinks="True" />

Hi Sebastian, I am having the same problem with the home page not localizing properly. I upgraded from 7.0.2 to 7.3, disabled Infinity UrlMaster per http://www.ifinity.com.au/2013/07/22/DNN_71_and_Url_Master, then whenever I click on a different language on the homepage, it just redirects to English (I have en, cn, tw and jp). Everything worked fine before switching to the DNN Url Manager (advanced).

I upgraded to 7.4 and the problem persists. I think it is something wrong in the URL module, not the language skin, because in 7.4 when I type the url directly it stills displays the English homepage, although it keeps the url correct in the browser. ie abc.com/cn will display abc.com/cn.

In 7.3 when I would go to abc.com/cn it would display the English page but the url would change to abc.com.

I can navigate to
the homepage by going to abc.com/cn/home-page-name.aspx.

Switches to other pages within the sites works fine. But of course they all have pages names in the url, unlike the home page. So this just happens on the homepage.

I see nothing in Fiddler, I have resaved everything in admin pages (home page, etc), looked through the tables in sql server management studio and see nothing strange. I am at my wits end trying to figure this out. If you could offer any insight that would be awesome.

Sincerely,
Cameron

Cameron,
please check web.config file and make sure, urlFormat is set to advanced.
Next, verify in Admin > Site Settings, that there is a primary alias per language and one neutral one (no language assigned).

Hi All!,

This particular part fixed the issue for me: "Site Settings, that there is a primary alias per language and one neutral one (no language assigned)." I was missing the neutral one. That´s why it wasn´t working for me.

I appreciate your support Sebastian.

Have a great new year you all!.

Cheers
