Hello!

I'm looking for any embedded possibility or additional module to export content for offline translation and import translated content right into target language if a multilingual web site based on DNN Evoq Content 7.4.

I'd like to use professional translation services to translate multilingual web site's content in primary language to the rest of site's languages, so I need a possibility to export chosen content in primary language to XML, XLIFF or whatever interchange file format, translate offline and import back translated content so it would appear in other language areas of the same web site.

Please let me know if there are such features in DNN Evoq Content 7.4 or who I need to contact to order development of a custom module that will do the job?

Thank you in advance!

We discussed this option in the DNN Internationalization team for DNN neXt (after DNN 8/Evoq 9), but no decisions have been made yet.
The effort depends on the modules containing the content - each module would need to support an export format and your custom "Translation Hub" would need to query it and pass to the export interface. You need to define, whether it shall be stored in files or transmitted online into a translation interface provided by your partner.

Thank you Sebastian for the prompt answer!

  1. Does your answer mean that the modules containing any translatable content also need to be modified to support export/import? Is such case it looks quite complex.
  2. Store to file / load from file is enough for the moment.

Hi Dmitry,

one company we work with that I think does what you need is Inventise.com. They are a DNN partner. We are a translation company ourselves and we translate DNN sites for our clients. Inventise have a customer plugin they developed that manages the export of content for DNN sites.  We partner with them and they are very strong technically - so would be able to help you. They work for a number of government agencies and commerical companies.
