Hi,

I have try to follow the steps that show me how to setup DNN using visual studio and so far it is not working.

I am using visual studio 2010 and have follow the 4 videos to set up DNN 7.4.2.

It says I can develop in DNN using visual studio.  I have not have much success in doing so.

I am also so what new in web development.  I need step by step instructions on how to build web pages in DNN using visual studio.

Thank you for your help in advance,

You don't build "pages" in Visual Studio, you build Modules that you can place onto pages.

Pages are managed from within a web browser.

DNN is a CMS, i.e. you build your pages using installed module - and you do it using your browser (not Visual Studio).
This means, you install DNN (install package) in your Hosting space (IIS website directory), browse the website to launch the installer and will get a default or empty website to start with, which provides you with online options to manage site settings, add pages and content onto it.
I suggest checking out the video library to get an idea, how to get started.

Visual Studio is needed, if you want to develop your own modules with specific functions for your individual needs (e.g. display a product catalogue from your existing ERP system)

Can you point me to the videos that you are talking about?

I have build my own page failed to integrate in DNN.

I guess there are steps that I am missing.

I am new both to DNN as well as web development.  So, there is a lot thing that I am still learning.

Thanks,
