In the error, this message mentions a cache file not being found. I have noticed that even with site level composite files off, dnn still appears to use composite files internally.  In the past, I had cleared the cache and it made no difference.  Only recycling the application [pool] seems to resolve it for 2 hours.  I surmise this is a bug in how DNN is dealing with the internal cache and it is somehow losing it's mind.  This is only a guess.  I have not solved this since I added 8.0.1, and it only became a high priority when my users started giving complaints indicating the javascript is not loading.  When it does, the menus and my pages are next to useless.  This is happening to all my new users who do not have a locally cached copy of the javascript from the site page, which would be most of them. So this is serious. I have exhausted my options, and am seeking help.

I don't really have any more ideas.

The internal (to ASP.Net) cache begins spilling objects from cache once it is full. It is supposed to use an intelligent algorithm for this and code using teh cache is supposed to cope with it sensibly. Maybe it does not.

If you have the ability to do so, can you just give the site more memory? In theory that may defer the point where it starts spilling objects. *Maybe* you could get to a point where recycling once per day would stabilize the situation and allow a more determined and less pressured attempt to solve the problem.

Best wishes,

I have my own server and have dedicated 24GB of ram to the site.  I am not even coming close to that. In addition, the site is running off of SSDs.   If I were to recycle, it would have to be once ever 2 hours.  Actually I have no idea how to recycle the application on an automated process, so if you have a web page with the process, I can try that.

Anyone else have ideas on this error?

BUMPING THIS.

It has been 8 months, and I am still getting this error. Is there anyone else out there getting errors on composite files filling up their log? Any ideas as to the cause of this?  I really think it is important for my website to serve my users with JS and CSS all of the time, not most of the time. I really would like help on this.

I still reboot every night. It seems that rebooting and resetting the app pool have no effect on this inconsistent error.  I would love to learn more about what this is, when it is occurring and how to stop it.  I am on 8.0.1.
