The BannerClickThrough page my setup is trying to use doesn't exist.  This is a link it created:

http://pvas.com.tempdomain.com/DesktopModules/Admin/Banners/BannerClickThrough.aspx?BannerId=5&VendorId=3&PortalId=0

I found these entries in the resx file:

1 - makes it look like it is optional to send to an intermediary - something I might be interested in if I want to track clicks as events in Google, but not today.

  <data name="plBannerClickThroughURL.Help" xml:space="preserve">
    <value>Redirect ads to an intermediary page</value>
  </data>

2 - makes it look like I can specify a custom click through page

  <data name="plBannerClickThroughURL.Text" xml:space="preserve">
    <value>Banner click through URL</value>
  </data>

3 - warning about malformed urls for custom click through pages.  How about the system specifying non-existent pages by default?

  <data name="valBannerClickThroughURL.ErrorMessage" xml:space="preserve">
    <value>Banner click through URL must be a valid URL, please make sure your URL starts with "http://"</value>
  </data>

Where do I find the place to set these?  It sounds like module configuration but I can't find it under the module settings.

Thanks!

JoAnn

JoAnn,
did you install vendor module from https://github.com/DNNCommunity/DNN.V... ?

Yes.  That's the one!  I am going to try to uninstall and reinstall it locally and see if that knocks something loose.  Looks like something didn't completely install.

Thanks.

Oh, well.  I removed it, both vendors and banners, redownloaded, reinstalled, and still the same non-existent path:

http://1.pvasdev.com/DesktopModules/Admin/Banners/BannerClickThrough.aspx?BannerId=8&VendorId=8&PortalId=0

Let me see what I can find.  That file has to live somewhere.

Thanks.

Well, the file just doesn't exist.  I did find a thread out on GitHub about the path to the page being wrong and the person even provided the corrected DLL, but if the page doesn't exist, it doesn't exist no matter what the path, right?

I really like this module and may just write my own click through page and specify that it use that, but it sure would be nice if it just worked as intended.

Since I am using the community edition for my club iste, I can't really complain but when it is time for us to look at at new CMS at work, knowing we have to workaround things before we even start is really going to be off-putting to the boss.  We are using Ektron right now and it is horrible when it comes to integrating custom work.  The module system in DNN would solve a lot of our ongoing headaches.

I have spent way too much time on this one piece so I think I will just do the workaround so I can get on to other things.

Thanks for the help.  I will keep an eye open for updates to the module.
