What I was disagreeing with is the assessment of Wordpress. I like DNN a lot better than Wordpress, but that's beause I can relateto it better considering my field of development is .NET anyway. And you mention Mandeeps as a converter of Wordpress to DNN? I knew there was a reason why I feel particularly comfortable dealing with his modules.

Your personal preference of using .NET doesn't make DNN better than a PHP CMS. A computer language doesn't dictate how good a software is. Sucky software can be built with any language. If WordPress was built in .NET, I would have left DNN for it in a heart beat. What's going for DNN vs other APS.NET based CMSs is the extensive options in the store.  I am looking forward for a DNN rewrite to be  meaner, modular, slimmer and more agile than the monster it is now. A rewrite like how Microsoft changed a monster ASP.NET to ASP.NET Core. BTW, DNN's conversion to MVC has been very quiet for months. The vNext forum is very quiet.

A DNN module and theme vendor like Mandeeps is porting some successful WP templates into DNN ones.  If this is an indication of anything, it indicates some WP themes and plugins are so good that a DNN vendor decided to port them. It's a nod to WordPress, not the other way round.

While DNN Corp is focusing on their paid products now, DNN Platform is still a great foundation for integrators and developers to create optimal custom solutions (even by integrating great 3rd party modules or module packages).
I assume that even the politest US users would admit, that the out-of-the-box experience for new users has some room for improvements.

Cheers from Germany,
