usually you should stick to Telerik DLL versions shipped with DNN, 3rd party modules should use the same.
Modules referring Telerik controls via DNN wrappers might need to be upgraded for DNN 8.

Thanks Sebastian and Happy New Year,

I am using the Telerik dll which came with the installation of DNN. It looks as if the upgrade to DNN 8.0.4 updated this dll (because the one in the upgraded version is a slightly smaller file size than the previous version).

My main problem is that when using the Admin tools (Add New Page, Page Settings, etc...), some of the important control dropdowns don't work. For instance, when adding a new page, the dropdowns for setting the Parent Page, Template Folder, Copy From Page, Filter By Group, and Output Cache Provider, do not work.

Another one is the "Filter By Group" dropdown in Page Settings. There might be others.

All of these dropdowns just keep spinning and never resolve when trying to set them.

What module would I need to upgrade to fix this problem? I don't see many that have a newer version when I look in Extensions.

Or, should I try to use the older version of the Telerik .dll (from before the upgrade)?

I am using the CKEditor but my problem is really in the Admin>> Page Settings dropdowns, so I don't know if that is important (the html Editor seems to be working fine).

So are there any more ideas how to fix this admin problem? I cant really have my users add new pages this way.

Thanks

TOm

I tried putting the Telerik.Web.UI.dll from the older (working) version of DNN into the upgrade version, but still had the same problem: Parent Page dropdown and other dropdowns in the Admin pages just spin and time out.

Anything else I should try to fix this issue? I'm stuck at this point and I really need this to work or I will have to keep using an old version of DNN.

I still haven't figured this out. In case this is unclear, here is a link to a screenshot of what happens hwen I'm trying to make a selection (Add New Page >> Parent Page) :

Is this a Telerik Lirary version issue? Which one should I use and how do I install it? Or is this a jquery problem? Please let me know what you think

Thanks

Looks like we found the fix for this! Referenced in this Stack Overflow page:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/39...

I removed clientIDMode="AutoID" attribute from web.config in the following tag:"

And the problem went away!
Now I need to check my installation to see whether there are any other issues caused by this fix.
