Hey there Hans-Peter. I've been out of teh DNN loop for a little while, and figured the Blog project was as good a place as any to get my feet wet again. I'll be taking a look at the NewBlog over the weekend, and I'll pitch in wherever I can.

Later

Cornelius,

Not trying to hijack this thread.  To say this forum is not popular is not proper.  In three months before this latest release, the source version had 35,000 downloads.  Granted, that doesn't mean they are all being used but I would certainly say that is as popular as any other dnn module.  I have been running with the forums project without a team for awhile now.  The team is just now starting to dive in while tam and I work on other projects.  Considering there is now user documentation I think popularity will increase and I think more bugs will be noticed so they can be corrected.

I don't think the structure of NewBlog and the forum are all that similar nor all that different.  They are bothing going down the same path, private project to core project.  In this there is a transitional period which we are just finally out of with the forums.  After that period is done development speed increases, IMHO.

OK, no soucy for blog. So, I must ask you just a precision about the dnn forum because its developpement structure is about the same as dnn blog and it is less popular than other forum like YAF for example ; so do you consider dnn forum is stable for future and should be improved by dnn team ?

Cornelius,

I think it is not fair and not the truth, that the forum module should less popular than other forums for DNN.

The forum module we are talking about is the only FREE forum module for DNN which is really a DNN module.

Have a look at the forum forum, and you will see that his forum ist the most used forum here on the project forum. That indicates not that the module is not used.

Chris and his team have done a real good job with the forum module, and I already curious what are the next steps in this project.

Just my 2 cent

I was tactless and I'm sorry for that, it was not my aim and I know the free time you spent for the community ; I respect your great, professional job and your courtesy for always reply.

I enjoy the dnn forum and I'm happy to see many people using it. I hope this one will continue to grow. But now, to not hijack the subject of this forum, I close this parenthesis about dnn  forum.

In my concern, I prepare a big french community site based on DotNetNuke and I must be sure my choices of modules are tight and durable. This is why I ask so many questions and I often need your opinion.

I let now this BLOG forum going on...
