I think for a new site, you're going to get frustrated with how slow it is for page creation and editing. Without the persistent edit mode, it's tedious for content creation.

Yes, I agree.

That said, we should also remember how much that is really great with DNN still and all the hard work that is put into making it that. Especially considering that many of us probably use the freeware version. So, overall great work DNN Team, even though DNN9 seem to need some more work before it is suitable for production use.

It's no good for upgraded sites and I'm sorry to disagree Sebastian but it NOT good for anything let alone new sites.
It is beta, if not alpha, we're now on the 4th iteration of DNN9 and I don't see things improving.
Persona Bar needs to go as soon as possible. What was the reason for it?
BUGS everywhere. Bugs being reported and not fixed because "I couldn't find it"!
I'm going to stop using myself. Unfortunately I have some customers who want to use it. I might drop them as well.
How they expect anyone to want to trial or pay for evoq if this is an example of their work I don't know.
And why does this Rich Text Editor keep deleting all but one line of text when just pressing return!!!!!
This is the problem with just setting dates for releases. The software isn't ready but it has to be released because the calendar says so!

So, any news here? Does DNN9 feel ready to upgrade a critical production site to?

I'm using it for a few production sites. Had to wait for DNN 9.1.0 though. Even then, some sites can't use it because non-admins need access to Users list, and 9.1.0 removed that module and Groups module. Normal sites seem good, though. Persistent editing across pages is apparently coming in next release.
