I don't have a razor script at hand, but any module or JavaScript which might sending a link to the same page with the value of the form variable as QS parameter would be fine.

I'm not a coder, so no razor or js knowledge. I can use/copy/adapt a script from some examples.
By QS you mean send a link with 'mypage.com/pagelink?myvar' ?
How does the reports module catch the var?

Is this correct?
Allowed URL Parameters: 'myvar'
http://www.mysite.com/page3?myvar=ABC
Use @url_myvar on the reports sql

that is precisely, what I meant :)
easiest might be using JavaScript, bound to a button click or dropdown event.
There should be numerous samples available in the internet.
