I once considered doing this but I thought it was not possible.
Therefor I have a question about this (since you seem to be the one to ask...)
If you would use the qualifier to install DNN twice on the same DB, would you still be able to update these two sites?
Would you run the update on one and only copy the upgrade files on the second?
Thanks.

Timo,

The objectQualifier offers a way to virtually seperate the tables used by DNN in the db. So you can use one database for more than one dnn installation, as long as you give every installation its own OQ. When you want to upgrade, you can upgrade only one of the instances, because only the tables and other objects for that instance will be upgraded in the db. So you could run 2 different dnn versions on one db. Of course.. it would be prudent to do a test upgrade first, and to keep good backups....

I could be wrong but while this worked great under DNN2.1.2 it does not work well under 3.2.x+.

The last time I tried I could not actually install the second instance by changing the qualifier.

I would agree with the previous post that the aspnet_ tables cause problems.
