Working on a DNN site and for the general public I don't want to use the SolPartMenu, but without one on the page I can't access the admin functions, right?  Seems like it'd be a fairly common issue, so what's the best way of doing this?

Also if I want to remove the Login button, I need to create a page that has the login function and just not link to it right?

There are several different ways of doing each thing you're asking about.  To make the full menu available only to a specific role, it's easiest to use a module and display it all pages and make the module viewable only to the desired role.  Most of the menu and sitemap modules will easily do this and preserve the DNN menu settings, so for example the admin menu still will only be viewable to admin and superuser accounts.

To remove the Login button, you can remove it from the skin.  Most skins use the LOGIN skin object.

SubzeroSolutions has a menu replacement skin object called AdminMenu, it can be set up to only display to admin users etc, I usually use it when I use Image or flash navigation on a site.

Oh, that's fabulous!  I just went and had a look at it.  I wasn't aware of any menu skin objects which were able to do that.  He's got some other neat goodies, too.

Fabulous indeed...

Now, if only it showed ONLY the Admin and Hosts functions, instead of ALL TABS, it would be perfect!!!! Sure wish there was a way to make that happen...
