I decided to move my World of Warcraft guild site off of one of those cookie cutter hosts and make my own site. My domain host is a friend of mine and directed me to dotnetnuke for my guild site needs.

Now I have it up and running but ran into some trouble when it came time to tweak its look away from default and into something more usable for me.

I have some questions about it that I hope someone will take the time to anwer or point me into the right direction.

1. I created a banner for the site and uploaded it but it justfies to the left and is not lining up with the top of the site.  Why are there no settings that I can find that allow me to say center/ right  / left / or stretch on the banner?  There are no options!  Just upload as is and live with it?  constantly pull the image into photoshop and try to manually change it?  Which brings up my second question:

2. Uploading the banner with the same name does not overwrite the file?  If I am trying to change little things and see how they look on the site I have to rename the file 1, 2 , 3 , 4 for each version and end up with a lot of extra crap I have to delete off of there.  A confirm overwrite option would be nice.

3. Basic colors.  I don't want to get really fancy with custom skins, I just want to change the colors.  Something black and red etc.  I can not see any method to customize the colors other than creating or downloading a skin.   Am I just not seeing it?  Shouldn't there be a drop down box someplace under site settings where one could select border color, banner background color, site background color, top panel background color, left side panel background color, top panel header background color, forground color, text color etc etc etc with out having to edit code?

4. I installed the module for events and placed it into the right panel.  it stretched out to about 30% of the screen and squished up the content panel to super narrow.  I looked through the settings for the module looking for something that says keep it at X pixels or X% or something to that effect but I can not find anything that will keep it under control.  Is this just how it is?

Again, hope someone has time to help me out here or point me in the right direction to find ansers. I did a search for some info but am not finding it.  Maybe i am searching for the wrong thing. :(

Ok, enough rambling.

Thanks for your time.

-Mike
