Hi to all,

I have had a major problem with my DNN portals filemanager not loading and have posted numerous messages and all have gone unanswered. I am baffled as to why no one will even give me a response and feel my problem may be a restriction in the DNN Portal. I have hundreds of paid members on my site and more than willing to pay for support which i have offered also to no avail. This can be a frustrating part of open source technologies. I have found two other posts by searching google regarding this error and I am positive that DNN has some sort of restriction once the file size gets above 2 gig.

The last message on this post relates to my problem: http://forums.asp.net/thread/978119.aspx

Also this post relates to it:

http://stage.dotnetnuke.us/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/118/threadid/22379/threadpage/0/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Below is my part of my original post:

When trying to access the File manager it is throwing up the following error:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Value was either too large or too small for an Int32. ---> System.OverflowException: Value was either too large or too small for an Int32. at System.Convert.ToInt32(Int64 value) at DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalController.GetPortalSpaceUsed(Int32 PortalId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.FileSystem.FileManager.UpdateSpaceUsed() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.FileSystem.FileManager.BindFileList() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.FileSystem.FileManager.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Jay

What version of DNN are you using?  I believe the 2 GB portal limit has been fixed.

http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=2091

If you are running a older version you would need to upgrade to somthing higher than 3.3.0.

If that is not an option you can change some values in the core to get around the 2GB limit.  This page has a word document detailing how to change the core so you can have more than 2GB.  http://codegalaxy.com/Programming/DNNModules/tabid/67/Default.aspx

We had one site with this issue at one time.

Hi There,

THanks so much for your response. I just have a couple questions.

I am running 3.2.2 and have a lot of modules installed. What is the likely hood of some modules not working after the upgrade?

In regards to changing the values in the core, it mentions about recompiling a .dll file but in the instructions it appears i just edit some .vb and .asx files. WHat is involved in recompiling the dotnetnuke.dll file?

Regards, Jay

1) If you consider an upgrade, please use one of the release versions 3.3.3 and 4.3.3

2) most of the modules shall work as expected or the developers shall be able to adopt without big effort. There is however one area, that has been taken complete rewriting: user profiles. All modules, dealing with user data besides ID, login, first and last name will need to be upgraded. There might be as well issues with modules using linkClick.aspx. I recommend doing an upgrade of a local copy of your web site in advance.

Hi Guys,

At this stage upgrading to 3.3.3 is going to be a bigger job than expected. I am runnng a lot of modules including the catalook store and its going to take time to get all modules up to date from the developers. The other work around (see URL below to pdf file) seems like the way to go in my case however it say you need to change the following files and recompile tghe dot net nuke project. What do they mean by recompile the dotnetnuke projec t?
