Is there a way that I can browse an internal directory structure with only the fully qualified unc?  I am not looking to open a file from the link but to open an entire folder.  I have tried the file://serverpath/sharedfolder and the file:///\\serverpath\sharedfolder but both give me a "Cannot find server - Page cannot be displayed" Error.

I am in the initial stages of trying to centralize several different departments and hundreds of documents.  If I can "link" the user to the location this will help tremendously in giving them a common interface to navigate through.

Thanks!

Mark V

Has anyone been able to resolve this. I am trying the same thing on our intranet and cant get this to work. If i make an html module with a standard hyperlink it works fine. There must be a way for the links module to do the same. Please help.

Hi,

I am also using DNN in an intranet environment.  I don't seem to have any problem with linking to a shared folder.  My link is in the format file://\\servername\public where servername is the full domain name of the computer, and public is the share name.  I also have the link configured to open a new window.  It works fine.  I'm not 100% sure under what credentials the request is made, but I would assume that it is under the credentials of the user, so the user's account must have the appropriate permissions for accessing the share.

Hope this helps
