Hmm, yes, the rule of waiting till its been public a while seems to haunt us foolish well. :)

Actually besides the file manager problem, i havnt had many problems in fact the site is running faster now.

Keep me informed on how it goes.

Hehe - I really thought I had waited long enough.

Well I have no rolled back to 3.2.0 - my host - Tony from PowerDNN.com has been really great and has kept the old site up (you may see it for a bit longer until my DNS changes propagate and Monday's 3.2.0 version of Smart-Thinker.com goes live again).

This means I can still keep an eye on this thread and try to get it working. I still have faith in 4.3.3 but to be honest I am suprised at the silence from the core team regarding this as it is a critical tme for DNN and 4.x adoption.

Oh well - I've had a few customers urgently asking me for files and these will be available shortly when the DNS changes kick in - thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.

Rodney,

Thanks for the link to this post from mine (here).  I've read through this post but did not think the two correlated but after re-reading it, I see you have had similar problems (albeit much more widespread than mine).  By installing the new Documents Module I was able to eliminate my problems with that module (as has been mentioned numerous time in this forum, the core modules are not included in the upgrade install).  But, that still leaves me with the File Manager problem.  My subdirectories don't show under the portal root.  And, the file location list box (as used in numerous locations through the site like the Documents module) show "//" after the name.  Wierd.  Since the File Manager is not a "module" of sorts this seems to me to be a core issue.  But I have not seen much assistance from the core team yet as to possible causes or solutions.

BTW, is there any 'official' documentation on the new file system(s) yet?  Other than the brief overview given by Shaun that is.  My thought is that has something to do with our FM issues.

Hmmm - here's hoping radio silence will be broken on all these issues with the release of DNN 4.3.4...

I would appreciate it if anyone who has tried it could report on any of these errors if it affects them?

the handling of files has been improved in DNN 3.3.4/4.3.4, hopefully all or most of the issues have been solved now. AFAIK deletion of obsolete entries for removed files has been included into synchronization.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold
