I have several "successful" new installs that give me this error at random. It seems to be on various 4.X versions. 3.X don't give me this. Nothing in the log viewer. It's just an error page that seems to be from DNN. I cannot see anymore info even with custom errors off. I also see a lot of others having this problem, but no one is helping!

Hi

I have exactly the same problem. I am new to DNN and am evaluating it at the moment.

I have tried using the VS2005 project type install, which worked well right up to the point I tried to deply the application using the Web Deployment Project. This failed as for soem reason I didn't get to the bottom of, the freetextbox installation didn't work.

So, I want back to the source zip file and am trying to get this working. I compiled to release, and then browsed to default.aspx, which initiates install. I have tried this several times and at some point during module installation, I get the "thread being aborted" exception.

However, the last time I tried (and I didn't do anything different) it worked.

Any help, gratefully accepted.

Tony

Hi

I examined my event log and discovered that "aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 596) stopped unexpectedly." Having done some more digging on this, I came to the conclusion that the machine.config/processmodel/responseDeadlockInterval was set too low at three minutes.

I reached this conclusion because I have noticed that it often takes more than three minutes to install DNN, though stry it can sometimes complete in just over one.

Obviously, it is not good to increase this parameter permanently, but I am going to experiment with a higher value during install.

Of course, this could all be complete nonsense.....

Hey egghead, I understand that this happens during an install -- but in my case I was able to install it, but still get this error just browsing the pages, about 30% of the time. Does your site still crash?

The app pool settings are default and CPU & memory usage low, so I don't see how it can be crashing. Pages pop-up very quickly, even when I get the error. This is happening on easycgi's top virtual hosting plan.
