mm an image module / now turned media module but I think what we need for a real image module is the abillity to create image

so set dpi set format set transparency set background set text etc this way it could be used to create dynamic images image headers etc so an enrichment to skinning

We're thinking of a provider-based model for the new module. Like MS, who've maid a lot provider based in (ASP).NET 2.0.

The control that helps you finding the image (now: upload or choose from filemanager) will probably be provider based. That is: you can make your own and plug it in.

There you or we (or us together) can make a 'thing' that does not get an image from somewhere, but creates one on the fly, based on the settings you provide.

The control (in our current design) also is responsible for rendering the image (or media-content in general) to the vistor. In the same way as a module.ascx is responsible for rendering to the visitor, and module_edit.ascx is responsible for rendering to the author or editor.

I hope you get this. We'll publish some models about this -hopefully- soon.

Is this what you'd like the module to do? What would you like the editing interface to be able to do? Would you like to be able to create one image at a time? Or would you like to have programmatic support for this (setting properties of the module from code)?

PS: Do you have any experience regarding this subject: creating images on the fly?

James, sorry for the long time span for this reply.  Could you send me an email explaining where you see yourself fitting in to the project and what you have to offer?

Thanks in advance.
