First, I don't understand how your ISP is routing email via port 80 when that is the http port, but that is another thing. As for the forum and other ports, the forum does not actually send the email and makes a call to the same SendMail that the core registration uses so there is nothing in the forum to control this and would all depend on your settings set in host settings for smtp.

Remarkably that was their response to our question.  We have found an answer  Thanks for your assistance.  It was as suggested the settings.  The Host SMTP were fine.  It was the spam settings on a host relay for the SMTP.  Once the spam filter was updated the forum email notification worked perfectly.  We do want to change the wordage within the email.  Is the forumemail.xml used for both post and edit notifications?   In particular we're trying to locate one phrase "was edited by {Users Name} into forum"  Any suggestions would be appreciated
