I am new to the Dotnetnuke effort but I have been using the software for last month or so getting used to it, but I made a HUGE mistake somehow I locked out the "LOGIN" page from my portal, I created a circle to the home which has a login link that brings me back to home, so I can't login to fix it

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried it even though running V4 of duke, didn't work.  Trying to get ISP to restore data waiting on reply, but wish there was a way to fix without doing that.

Second Question, is there a way to make backups I can store on my pc incase something like this happens again?  I am only using the dotnetduke interface a short time and didn't see any "backup" option

Search for evota (lite and full) backup for a module to do backups. I've also heard that core DNN may offer this later this year.

But what I do is this: My host (WebSecureStores) auto generates a backup of the database for the last 3 days. I then just use SmartFTP to automatically download to my PC a copy of the backed up DB, PLUS all the (modified) files from my websites periodically.

Once you get your site back up make sure and create a new portal, either child or parent, and just use that portal for admin functions only. That way you'll never have to worry about this again. (If you get locked out, just use the admin portal to get yourself back in)
