well it seems.. the only way i get it to work is by.. turning off zone alarm...  something to do with it preventing cookies. and therefore not registering the log-in.

offcourse this method does leave me without a firewall to protect my internet connection...

is there no way of having zone alarm running and have my log in work properly?. ( and i've tried all the.. adding it as a trusted site.. using portal aliases.. ..  etc. etc..).. the only thing that works . is shutting down ZA..

any suggestions?.

Check on the Zone Alarm site, I would think they would have a fix by now.  They have mangled auth cookies in ASP.Net for years now.

I have a very similar problem on my local machine - unfortunately I lost my backup database for 4.3.6 and upgraded to 4.5.1

I now  am able to log in and see each of the portals as a host but cannot see the admin menu

I get the message saying I ave logged in with an insecure password (default) but cannot see any host features to re set it

I cant even browse host pages by using their portal /tab ids - I tried http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Host/ModuleDefinitions/tabid/18/Default.aspx

but no joy http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Default.aspx?tabid=18 just takes me back to home page

I have loads of info on here I would like to access

any ideas???
