Hi,

I would be interested in learning how you protect email addresses on your sites from spam robots. I've been told you could use the stoprobot javascript but I have no idea where to start. I'd be very interested in finding out how you guys deal with this.

Many thanks in advance

Leif

In the DNN core framework, there are two functions available to protect email addresses: Function FormatEmail (email as String) as String uses CloakText, to prevent addresses from being spidered.

Thanks very much for your reply Leupold.

Does that work if I'm using third party modules as well like UDT and Xmod or is this only working for the core user data ?

Thanks

Leif

Leupold, Could you be more specific, or is there a place that describes in detail how to make this work?

It is a simple function in the DNN framework, you can call in your module, when you are going to display email addresses. You will see an example in the upcoming version 3.3.4 of UserDefinedTable module, where I implemented it a few days ago. Please be patient, it will be released soon.
