My current web site is on DNN4.0.3

I have tried to upgrade the site to DNN4.3.4 by doing a fresh installation, and I have everything up and ready but the contents.  How do I import the contents from my current site to the new site.

Thanks in advance for you help.

I'm not sure if you still need help with this but I recently went through changing a production site to a new webhost via a fresh install. I'm not sure why you're not just upgrading on top of your old site - this of course would be the simple method. I could not do that because my old site was version 4.3.4 and my new webhost did not have asp.net 2.0 installed as of yet so I downgraded to version 3.3.4. I got such a great deal on hosting my site I didn't really mind.

When transferring the info I found that the import-export route worked great on all text/html modules. However for the ones that had a lot of data attached that wasn't the case. I built the new install and new database normally and then made sure that the pages and modules were installed exactly the same as my old installation. Then I cut and pasted the information from the tables I needed the info from to the new database. I did use excel as as intermediary so that I could make sure that the module numbers were changed to reflect the new installation. It all went smoothly and the new site works great.

I suggest just upgrading your portal instead of moving content, this guarantees, that all content and settings are included.

If you really want to copy content, create a template in 4.0.3 and import the template in 4.3.4 - it will include all modules supporting iPortable interface with most of their settings, as long as they do not have duplicate module definitions (e.g. like Blog)
