Opps sorry I repied to soon,  Nina,  im watching your video right now,  Thank you very much...  Your a !!!

On the preview thing,  I just did a new install of DNN to make sure it wasnt something I messed up and the preview still doesnt show until I apply the skin.  If I log out and go back in to the skin screen the thumbnails are red X's.  not a major problem just a pain

Ok I have it working now.   I was zipping the folders for the container and skin.  Instead I went into the folder and zipped the folder contents into a container & skin zip file.  then zipped those and bingo it worked

Thanks for the video it helped when you showed the files on the server and where they went

This looks like a recent post. But I've got still some problems with the thumbnail previes images of skins.

Every time I hit the skin menu entry I see a red cross (image not found) if I look at the url of the image (the properties)

I see that the url has to much info :

http://localhost/TUP.DEV/portals/tup/tup.dev/portals/_default/skins/v001_tuportal/thumbnail_v2_showcase.jpg

the red text doesn't belong there, it doesn't even exists! anyone have an idea ?

Yea im still running into the same problem with the previews,  ive tried both on localhost and my shared server. Happens with the built in skins, any I download and ones ive created from scratch.

I posted in a few other places but nobody seems to have a idea why its happening.

Some times even changing the skin it still wont show.  Its become more of a pain since I have alot of containers for a retail store to use to show sale items and specials, for now Ive printed out a list of the containers they can use to refer to to pict the containers they want to use...
