first, you are the first person running DNN 3.4, including the core developers ;) To assist us supporting, please be precise with your information, the current DNN3 version is 3.3.4.

Please compare your web.config with the release.config, that came with DNN3.3.4 and make sure, your web.config meets exactly the same keys etc. The recommended procedure is saving your old web.config, copying Encryption keys, Database connection string and object qualifier (as well as any necessary additional customization)  from old web.config to release.config and finally renaming release.config to web.config.

Looks like you're missing the closing quote symbol and following space in the value for the MachineDecryptionKey.

Just my luck! ;)  I downloaded and installed the 3.3.4 install.zip package.  I did rename the release config, copied and pasted the keys and database string.  I did not have any customization.  I also noticed the missing quotation mark in the string for the machinedecryptionkey that showed in the error message.  However, when I checked the code in the web.config it was not missing.  I will go back and do a comparison between the old web config file and the renamed release config file.  Will get back with you shortly.  Thanks for the quick response!

Thanks for the response.  I noticed that also, before I submitted the post.  I checked the actual code in the file and the quotation mark and quote is there.  I even backspaced the subsequent line back to the quotation mark and then put the space and / back in.  It still does not work.  I am going back over the code in the two config files and comparing to see if I can find a variance between the two.
