1) When I try to approve a user's enrollment for an event, an error like the one at the bottom of this message appears.

2) Though I have my calendar configured for "allow enrollment, do not require moderator approval", the calendar still requires me to approve events before approval is complete.

Please don't take this as a knock on open source, DNN, or this calendar module, but I really just don't think I can rely upon this calendar. I don't think it's production-ready--at least for what I need.

So, I've Googled DNN calendars every way I can, and have struck out (I got excited about MediaChase for a short period, but I think I'd really have to roll my own with it--it's not a DNN module).

Does anyone know of a DNN calendar that's reliable, mature, that allows enrollment and automatic notification, cleans up old events, allows recurring events, all that?

Thanks very much for any help on this.

I really do not want to compete with the core Calendar Module as we have different angles on the module, but have you tried the Smart-Thinker Events module?

It's more focussed on Invites and enrollments, but it lacks some of the cool new features the core calendar has. We are about to release a new version (1 month) and there are some great enhancements planned - see our website for more info. But it's not free ;)

Thanks, Rodney! I'll check it out. We're very much ready to pay for something that does what we need.

Give http://www.dnnapp.com/ a try.

I wish the source were available, even if it was for sale, but I have had good luck with David's modules.
