I have installed fckEditor and am getting the following error

Could not load file or assembly

My whole site is busted.  After a little research, I wonder if it's because I'm using DNN 4.3.4 with Visual Studio 2005 and .NET 2.0   I think the current download is in .NET 1.1 - unless I grabbed the wrong one.

Can someone please clarify this - I would like to get this working by end of the week.

FCK works with DNN3 (ASP 1.1) and DNN 4 (ASP 2.0) as well.

If it's not a 2.0 issue, I'm not sure what it is.  I backed all my fck code out, recompiled and tried again.  I got my site working again.  Then downloaded the new Install package - no Source code this time.

I did exactly what the Install.txt file states, and as soon as I upload the new .dll my whole site goes down.

Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.FckHtmlEditorProvider' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.FckHtmlEditorProvider' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'DotNetNuke.FckHtmlEditorProvider' could not be loaded.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

Please advise on some next steps, I'm not sure what else to try.  Does it have something to do with permissions?  If so, where do I need to alter my permissions and to what?

The file my be blocked from opening by windows if the file came from another computer.
Go to your bin directory, right click the dll file and select properties. Near the bottom there will be a button to 'unblock' the file if it in fact has been blocked.

I have seen something similar to this myself when copying files across the network to my webserver.

Boskone -

Thank you for the tip... unfortunately - I unblocked the file and it is still not working.  Any other ideas?

If I remove the DotNetNuke.FckHtmlEditorProvider.dll from the bin directory, my site works again.  If I put it back in, I get the same error I had above.
