Alan,

I think option 1 is a better choice.  I'd put it in the module settings and just let people offset ALL the times for the modules by *n* hours. This would let them account for issues where they may have not set the local timezone when they update and not realize it until later. Once you explained to me what was happening it only took a few minutes to get the times I'd imported corrected. I'd provide that explaination in a readme and let the users correct times in mass as needed.

Alan...

I just posted something on the avanced forum before seeing that you were active over here.  I must admit to being totally confused by the timezone settings.  I mean I understand in theory how it is supposed to work.  But here is an example where it's not currently working for me:
My user is set up for a Pacific timezone (thats -8).
My site's settings is set up for pacific timezone as well.
I go in and create a new event that I want to start at 7pm and last until 9pm on January 31st -- pacific standard time.

It fails to show up on the calendar.  When I look at the data that was saved was February 1st, 12am as the startdate.  The enddate is January 31st.  The starttime is February 1st, 3am.

If I then manually update the sql to say January 31st it correctly displays on the calendar -- but then trying to set it up for recuring fails.

Any ideas?  Is this already addressed by your bug fix that you mentioned?

In advance many thanks -- and thanks for an awesome module!!  I look forward to future releases of it!!
Brent

Brent...there is a bug in the current version.  Another early user discovered it.  I have corrected and am trying to get the module ready for the official DNN Project release. Thanks, Alan

Rob, since this is the first time releasing a DNN Project, I can't say how long it will take.  One way or another, I will try a release of AVCalendar out shortly for those that have already or are ready to make the jump to DNN 3.2.

Keith, that's an interesting idea.  How would the offset work.   If it was always in effect and they actually started using the TimeZone, wouldn't it corrupt other times?  What may be more acceptable is to put in a process that can adjust all unedited Events...I believe the TimeZone setting may be "NULL" if they are converted/upgraded events from previous calendars modules.
