But, this only works if all modules being used support import/export.  Unfortunately, this isn't the case... :(

Yes.  I can't seem to find the thread where I announced it though...hmmm.  The problem was with the Blog module.  I uninstalled it from DNN and the site started working again.  Unfortunately, I no longer have a blog on my site.  Once I get caught up with everything I fell behind on while trying to solve this problem then I'll track down the bug in the Blog module.  For now, I just won't use it.

I've added the Blog module back to my site and it's been running OK for about 24 hrs now.  I DID NOT turn on caching this time and that seems to be the trick.  Someone needs to seriously fix this problem or remove the option.

Unfortunately, as I and many others have discovered, caching is at best useless or at worst - MUCH MUCH WORSE (as you discovered) on about 95% of the modules out there.

It only works on the simplest of modules...  Text/html modules, contact list, documents, links, etc
