Can you please enlighten me, what distinction do you make between a blog and a forum. In use, the words are used interchangeably and at the end of the day serve the same purpose? TKS,

hmm... i'm not sure where you use those words interchangable... to me that sounds as if you thinks a car is the same as a bike... sure, they are both vehicles... but altoghether different

The name blog comes from Weblog, which can also be read as We Blog... and is nothing more really than an online diary, to which people can comment.
A forum is much more like a bulletin board, where users can post questions, engage in discussions etc etc... to me that is something completely different that a blog.

maybe google can shed some light on this as well:

It seems to me that you are attempting to make a distinction that doesn't exist in use. The fact is that the functionality you are pursuing and the new Forum, fundamentaly do the same thing and to have two DNN products with similar functionality will only cause confusion. TKS for the dictionary lesson,

BB3

I hope we can agree that this where we currently write this discussion thread is a forum.

If you like to see what a Blog is, you can visit the demo page of the blog module.

http://newblog.dnnmodule.net

Maybe this could show the difference of the two categories of modules.
