DotNetNuke versiosn: 4.3.3 with suplied News Feed (RSS).

I want the News Feed to read from a file not a network feed. I created a test XML file from a Google search and cut and pasted the RSS XML output to a file using Notepad. Uploded the file to the News Feed module.

On pressing UPDATE it reports a critical error as:

A critical error has occurred.
Unexpected XML declaration. The XML declaration must be the first node in the document, and no white space characters are allowed to appear before it. Line 1, position 5.

The first few lins of the file are:

  <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <rss version="2.0">
- <channel>
  <generator>NFE/1.0</generator>

When I remove the spaces before <?xml.... it reads that then goes on to complain about other syntax issues. However, this it output from Google. I expect the News Feed to able to read Google generated XML

What is the problem?
