Hi guys,

newbie here. I'm working at my second skin: first one was in HTML and went fairly well, this one uses ASCXs and I've got problems with image paths.

From the Skinning Guide:

"The Skin Uploader will manage the relative paths for the following HTML tags (
contained in either HTML or ASCX files ): IMG SRC, TD BACKGROUND,
SCRIPT SRC."

According to my experience, the ASCX files are not parsed in this way. I've searched the forum and I saw a few posts suggesting to manually add <% = SkinPath %> to the ASCX files. This would solve the issue but is also very inconvenient as you don't correctly see the page design in the editor anymore.

Am I missing something?

TIA,

Andrea

No, you are right I think.
Apply your skin ot a page and check you design on the (local)server (that's what I do, but I'm not using a WYSIWYG editor)

Hi Andrea,

To do local image paths in the .ascx skin use the <%= SkinPath %> variable.

The skin parser does this for you on upload when converting an HTML skin to .ASCX (or when you reparse the skin from the skins page), but the .ASCX files do not get this done automatically.

Guys, thanks for your answers!

John,

you may want to correct the Skinning Guide: it states that the <%= SkinPath %> variable is automatically addedd to ASCX files as well.
