I currently have a main portal and trying to set up a child portal, both with Active Directory authentication. The problem I seem to be running into is that the same AD user cannot sign up to both portals. If they hit the main portal first, they cannot authenticate into the child. If they hit the child first, they cannot authenticate into the main portal. It does not produce an error, either on the screen, or the logs, but the user in the second portal is not created. Does anyone have any thoughts about what may be happening???? I am stumped and don't know how to fix it. I am currently running version 3.3.4. Please let me know if you have ANY thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Update: I have been working on the problem for over a week and a the soution was found in another thread. http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/89/threadid/47304/threadpage/3/scope/posts/Default.aspx offered the method to fix my problem. As AD users are created with an auto-generated password, the username and password would never verify for the second login attempt (password presented is different every time). Therefore, the code thought there were 2 seperate users (not allowed with the same user name). The fix ignores the password if AD authentication is used, thus enabling the database code to process normally and most of all correctly adding the user to the child portal. Thanks to the individual that that located the problem and provided the solution.
