You're right, the error is a little different.  Right now I can't get it the error; all the module says is "An Error has occurred.  Announcements is unavailable".

Anyone have any ideas where to look next?

Here are the specifics of my setup:
Hosted web service
SQL 2000 (I've had to make changes in the web.config to point to a different dbo (not the default)).
DNN 4.3.4

you have to be logged on as host to be able to see the full error. You can also check the eventlog under Admin > Logviewer

That's right...I remember seeing it there.

Here's the error message (the same one I've been getting all along):

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Parameter count does not match Parameter Value count. ---> System.ArgumentException: Parameter count does not match Parameter Value count. at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.AssignParameterValues(SqlParameter[] commandParameters, Object[] parameterValues) at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, String spName, Object[] parameterValues) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.SqlDataProvider.GetAnnouncements(Int32 ModuleId, DateTime StartDate, DateTime EndDate) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.AnnouncementsController.GetAnnouncements(Int32 ModuleId, DateTime StartDate, DateTime EndDate) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.Announcements.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I'm getting same error on install for DNN4.3.5

This error occured on a DNN 4.3.5 site that has been upgraded 2 times from 2 previous 4.3 version..... and I get this error:  Looking in the host settings I see that this site is upgraded to 4.3.5 and is not in need of an upgrade.

Error: Announcements is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The file '/Etc/DesktopModules/Announcements/Announcements.ascx' does not exist. ---> System.Web.HttpException: The file '/Etc/DesktopModules/Announcements/Announcements.ascx' does not exist. at System.Web.UI.Util.CheckVirtualFileExists(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

However....on a brand new 4.3.5 installation loaded on the 16th the module loads fine.  It seems the problem is with the previous versions of DNN3+ that have been upgraded to the latest version....

I tried to delete the announcment module then install the new version...and this did not work either....so what I finally did was delete the upgrade and then revert back to the 3.3.04 version which works fine on the site that has been upgraded twice....

So, until this is remedied I would not load this module onto anything but a brand new install of the dnn4.3.5
