On a clean 4.3.5 install, the system is unable to complete the portal Export Template action. It fails with the following message:

Error: Export Template is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.PortalManagement.Template.SerializeFiles(XmlDocument xmlTemplate, XmlNode nodeFiles, PortalInfo objportal, String folderPath, ZipOutputStream& zipFile) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.PortalManagement.Template.SerializeFolders(XmlDocument xmlTemplate, XmlNode nodeFolders, PortalInfo objportal, ZipOutputStream& zipFile) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.PortalManagement.Template.cmdExport_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

It does not seem to be machine-memory-specific as it fails no matter what computer I try it from. The hosting machine has ample memory. The site itself works fine, and the export process fails even with the most plain-vanilla site (regardless whether "Include content" is checked).

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

I'm having a different but similar problem as those listed here. I have an intranet setup with 4.3.4 and only one portal in my instance of DNN. I would like to export it and then import to a different instance. here is the error message I get...

Error: Export Template is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: '10' Key being added: '10' ---> System.ArgumentException: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: '10' Key being added: '10' at System.Collections.Hashtable.Insert(Object key, Object nvalue, Boolean add) at System.Collections.Hashtable.Add(Object key, Object value) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.PortalManagement.Template.SerializeRoles(XmlDocument xmlTemplate, XmlNode nodeRoles, PortalInfo objportal) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.PortalManagement.Template.cmdExport_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Anyone able to decript this error and point me in the right direction?

I have some big files there, too, but they need to be there -

I upgraded 311 to 435 in production today after testing in development. It looks good for the most part but I am also getting this error about the Export Template is currently unavailable.

Part of the error says this: error BC30560: 'ZipOutputStream' is ambiguous in the namespace 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip'.

Someone wrote that you can't upgrade from 3.x to 435? I hope that's not true!!! I just did :)

There are only two problems with my install that I notice. This is the only one that made it to the error log, so that was a very successful upgrade, including some 3rd-party modules I had to upgrade. The other problem is in Host | Module definitions - all I see are empty image holders with the alt tag Upgraded? visible ... how come there aren't real images there? (I've seen them before on a different install - but they seem to be on again, off again - is that common?)

Thanks!

For me this WAS a DNN 3x to 4x upgrade problem, but I solved it. Here's how

Created a new 4.3.5 installation using the install.

Got WinCompare utility from SourceForge and compared the to web directories.

Concentrating on \bin, I removed ALL files in my application that WERE NOT in the new installation EXCEPT for the files used by third party modules that I had installed. Even if this is tough for you to figure out, move these DLL files out of bin, test your site and just move them back after you get errors that will tell you what DLL file is missing. In this case, it was the ICSHARP DLL and XML files that was conflicting with the newer dll of a different name in DNN 4x.
